Therapy can be transformational. I love my work and approach each client with your needs and desires for growth in mind. I practice person-centered, dynamic therapy - meaning we will travel along together and find the root of whatever the problem may be. I see adolescents and adults in individual therapy for a number of concerns. I also specialize in women's healthy sexuality as well as identity based therapy for those who may be struggling with aspects of their identity (eg sexuality, race, culture, gender, etc). We will work towards a place where you can lead an authentic life.
I am a licensed psychologist. I earned a Master of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Boston College, and a Doctorate of Counseling Psychology at Chatham University.
In addition to my clinical practice, I conduct research, teach at the City College of New York (CUNY), and offer consulting to individuals and companies. I am often featured in the media as a mental health expert. (such as The Doctors TV). Click here for more on those aspects of my work.

The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.”
― Pema Chödrön,
Finding our truth and being kind and gentle to ourselves can be one of the scariest journeys we can embark on. If you have ever wondered why you can’t seem to make sense of your own feelings, you are not alone. We all go through seasons of challenges and navigating life changes can be confusing and emotional. My mission is to help people overcome their struggles with stress and self-esteem to live full, abundant lives. I am passionate about helping my clients discover how to develop self-love, a sense of balance and clarity, and a healthy, satisfying life.
I have a long history of working closely with individuals in crisis, anxiety, and depression, and PTSD. What I have learned from my experience is that people have a misconception of therapy and believe it is for “others.” I have observed that people routinely settle for less and will remain in an unhealthy situation rather than seek guidance. I love being a therapist and working with a diverse population.
I can help you explore various issues in an open, honest way, focusing on your needs. At the same time, we look at a variety of influences impacting your life. We're all different in our own way, so I don't believe in "cookie cutter" approach. Each session is tailored to your unique needs and experiences so that you can begin to create change and heal.
Together, we can explore and work through these issues. It's important to feel heard and understood as well as learn new skills to improve problem areas. I offer a warm and inviting atmosphere to help you move through the challenges of the seasons of your life.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and a certified Trauma Stress Studies, which I received from the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston. I earned my graduate degree in Social Work at Fordham University and my undergraduate degree at West Virginia University. My practice modalities include; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Focused CBT. I also believe in bringing in a more holistic approach and focusing on mindfulness and being connected on all levels. Mind, body, and soul.
